Client story · EDANA

EDANA's team now builds its own pages

EDANA, the nonwovens industry association in Brussels, wanted a website its own team could build and update within the brand rules. I designed the templates in Figma, built the new menu and blog on GrowBig, and trained the team. It went live eight weeks after kick-off.

01 · Before

The situation

A large association site, a team that wanted to run it alone, and no room for downtime.

  • A team that wanted control

The marketing team wanted a theme they could set up, build and keep up themselves, within the brand guidelines.

  • A big site, a big menu

Many sections and member areas needed one clear menu, three levels deep.

  • No downtime while moving

The old theme had to keep running while pages moved to the new one, one by one.

  • News of four kinds

News, position papers, press releases and industry news each needed their own place in one blog.

02 · Conditions

Who did what, and the rules we agreed

  • Client

    EDANA

Brand guidelines, the page plan and menu structure, all content, and moving their pages to the new theme

  • Build

    Me

Figma templates and menus, the GrowBig child theme, new header and blog, the events module, training

  • A fixed price agreed on 19 September, after the kick-off call
  • EDANA bought the GrowBig licence; I built in their own HubSpot account
  • The brand's Inter font and gradients, exactly as in their guidelines
  • Pages moved with HubSpot's content staging, so the live site stayed up
  • Every question answered with a short video the team can replay

03 · How it happened

Eight weeks, step by step

  1. 12 Aug 2025

A question through my contact form

Javier asked what it would take to move EDANA's website to GrowBig.

  2. 16 Sep

    Kick-off call

Goals, page plan and menu structure.

  3. 19 Sep

    Scope agreed

EDANA chose the option that also moved the blog to the new design.

  4. 3 Oct

    Templates and menus in Figma

Javier: “Thank you so much Paul, The video is very clear and the Figma too.”

  5. 30 Oct

    Delivered

Header, blog and templates, each explained in a short video.

  6. 6 Nov

    Training

The team learned to rebuild pages and edit the menus.

  7. 10 Nov

    Live

The new header and blog switched on.

04 · Along the way

Problems solved on the way

Every answer went out as a short video the team could replay.

  • Links in the menu tiles

After the switch some menu tiles pointed to pages that had moved. I showed where to fix each link.

  • New forms in an older module

HubSpot's new forms didn't work in the theme's form module. HubSpot's default form module did the job.

  • A page that wouldn't publish

In March 2026 a staged page failed HubSpot's checks. Using different modules fixed it.

05 · After launch

The result

  • 10 Novlive, eight weeks after kick-off
  • 2 themesside by side while pages moved, so the site stayed up
  • Dec 2025back for a custom events module
“Thank you again for your time, advice, and clarity. After following your recommendation of using different modules now it has been finally published 😄”
Javier HerediaEDANA, 5 March 2026

What their team does on its own now

  • Javier edits both menus and the footer himself
  • The team rebuilds and publishes pages with content staging
  • They add new events with the events module, no developer needed

06 · A month later

EDANA came back for an events module

In December EDANA asked for an events list their team could keep up to date themselves.

  1. 1 Dec 2025

    Design and a fixed price

The events list designed in Figma, with one price for the module.

  2. 8 Dec

    Design approved

Events still to be confirmed go to the end; events in the same month are grouped.

  3. 15 Dec

    Delivered

Explained in a short video, ready for the team to use.

  • Grouped by month

Events in the same month sit together, so the list is easy to scan.

  • Dates to be confirmed

Events without a fixed date go to the end of the list.

  • Kept up by the team

New events are added in HubSpot, with no developer needed.

“Thank you so much Paul, The video is very clear and the Figma too.”
Javier HerediaEDANA, 3 October 2025
“Thank you for the cooperation this year”
Natacha DefecheEDANA, 19 December 2025

08 · Lessons

What made it work

  • Design the templates first

Templates and menus were agreed in Figma before any build started.

  • Keep the old site running

Two themes side by side, so pages moved over without downtime.

  • Answers they can replay

Every question after training got a short video, not a long email.
